I found a great post by Getelastic on add to cart buttons.
Loads of examples and some useful stats on usage. Of course, its US centric, but useful none the less.

Nice article thank you for posting. The right add to to cart utton for any website is more important that most people realise and should be updated from time to time. This is an “action button” so the colors, the shape, the postion should be all in the right place.
